Decidophobia

The dynamic, ever-changing nature of man is often overwhelmed by the stagnant, frozen circumstances dominating society; a society in which —unlike its definition_ individuality can only be an illusion. "Decision-making" is not solely based on personal preferences but is often predetermined. At times, our surrounding world renders fluidity and change impossible, leading us to surrender to passivity, allowing others to make decisions on our behalf. By removing individuals from their contexts and examining their individualism, it becomes apparent that their approval or destruction is often beyond their control. When the power of decision-making is stifled by the coldness and inertia of the status quo, remaining passive is often considered the best course of action for many. "Decidophobia" is a state in which individuals struggle to make decisions in specific circumstances. Decidophobes often defer to others or outside agents to decide, eventually accepting anything presented by those individuals as truth.
